Purpose | Because our purpose is to preserve and promote Japanese art and culture, we aim to foster and enhance art research by providing grants to university and graduate school laboratories that conduct art research, as well as commendations for students and researchers. By doing so, we hope to accomplish our purpose and contribute to the development of Japanese art and culture. |
Founding Vision
I believe Japanese culture, and Japanese painting in particular, has world-class value. In order to preserve the culture of Japanese painting for future generations, it is important not only to preserve and restore Japanese paintings themselves, but also to teach the techniques used to make them.
Furthermore, it is also important to cultivate a new Japanese culture while we preserve Japan’s traditional culture, and I think that Japanese films are a candidate that can demonstrate the value of Japanese culture to the world.
It is essential to train creators who can develop and maintain Japanese culture for the future. To that end, we established a foundation that, although small, could support the universities and graduate schools that take on the responsibility of training those creators.
